COVID-19 CITY PARKS PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT REOPENING NOTIFICATION
Effective Monday, May 18, 2020; the City of Decatur will reopen the City playground equipment, rendering all City parks facilities to become 100% open to the public.
With the reopening of the City’s playground equipment facilities, the City Parks department has adopted additional disinfectant and sanitization practices to be performed each morning; therefore, the parks will be opened up around 9:00 a.m. for occupancy by the public.
We continue to encourage you to make the best possible decisions for yourself and your family by following expert guidance and advice. With that in mind here are some tips from the CDC and the National Recreation and Park Association about using our facilities during this time.
DO
• Maximize physical distance from others
• Bring your own water and hand sanitizer
• Follow CDC guidelines
DON’T
• Visit parks if you are sick
• Visit parks if you were recently exposed to COVID-19
• Visit crowded areas
