Dismissal Information

Requirements

  • All administrative fees for dismissal are due at the time proof of compliance is submitted. 
  • All proof of compliance and fees must be submitted in person or via mail.
  • Payment is accepted in the form of check, money order, cash (in person), or debit/credit card (in person).
  • Once documentation has been received and verified, your request will be presented to the Judge for dismissal.  


Expired Registration

This violation may be dismissed if:

  • The vehicle registration is renewed and the penalty fee was paid to the tax assessors office. 
    • You must notify the tax assessor before payment of renewal that you have received a citation in order to pay the penalty fee.
  • You have submitted a copy of the registration receipt and a $20 dismissal fee to the Court by the appearance date on the bottom of the citation.

*No extensions for compliance dismissals will be granted at the window.


Expired Driver’s License

This violation may be dismissed if:

  • You renew your driver’s license the appearance date on the bottom of the citation.
  •  Submit proof of renewal and $20 dismissal fee to the Court by the appearance date on the bottom of the citation.

Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility

This violation may be dismissed if:

  • Proof of a valid insurance policy for the date and time that the citation was issued is presented to the Court by the appearance date on the bottom of the citation. 
    • All insurance documents not submitted directly from an insurance agency will require a Clerk of the Court to verify, with your insurance company, information submitted. Please allow one business day before accessing your citation information  to make sure that your case has been dismissed. 
    • If your insurance agent submits the information to the Court by fax, at 940-393-0201, with reference to your citation number, additional processing time will not be required. Please make sure to check the status of your case by accessing your citation information  to make sure that the Court has received information from your insurance agent and processed a dismissal for this violation.

Failure to Display Driver’s License

This violation may be dismissed if:

  • A copy of a valid driver’s license and $10 dismissal fee is submitted to the Court by the appearance date on the bottom of the citation.

Failure to Change Address

This violation may be dismissed if:

  • Proof that you changed your address and $20 dismissal fee is submitted to the Court by the appearance date on the bottom of the citation. 

*No extensions for compliance dismissals will be granted at the window.
