NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO ALL INTERESTED PERSONS, THAT:
The City Council of the City of Decatur, Texas will convene a public hearing on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 201 E. Walnut St, Decatur, Texas in accordance with State Law (Local Government Code, Chapter 102.0065), to hear comments from the public regarding the proposed Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 beginning on October 1, 2023.
This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year's budget by $577,729 or 13% and of that amount $136,202 would have been tax revenue from new property added to the tax roll this year.
A copy of the Proposed Budget is on file with the City Secretary for public review and inspection. The City Secretary’s office is located at City Hall, 201 E. Walnut St, and is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. A digital copy can be downloaded by clicking the link below.
